Knowledge Management in a Business Environment

Knowledge management deals with managing the flow of information between employees and the organization. The purpose of the research was to analyze knowledge management in the business environment based on a review of the literature in this field. We used a systematic review of the scientific literature in the databases Academic Search Elite, RUL, Cobiss.si, Google Scholar and EBSCOhost. The key search phrases were “knowledge”, “knowledge management”, “knowledge maps”, “knowledge map” and “knowledge handling”. The PRISMA method was used to present a review of bibliographic databases and to decide on the usefulness of the references included in the research. The literature review found the following types of knowledge in the research areas: explicit knowledge, tacit knowledge, tacit organizational process knowledge, and explicit organizational process knowledge, which can be mapped using various techniques, such as the mind map, the concept map, the knowledge asset map and the process knowledge map
