Feeling the Quality of Airplanes

The demand for services is constantly growing in the world. The growth in the number of air travellers has been a continuous source of economic development for many destinations for a decade, and an analysis of the interconnectivity of processes is essential. The article explores the impact of aircraft quality on the number of fatal aircraft accidents and the potential impact of this factor on international tourist arrivals. The article uses advanced methods of correlation analysis at the interval of data from 1995 to 2018, or 2019, if the latter are available for the individual variable studied. Results show that the Boeing aircraft manufacturer with missteps in top management has returned to the quality level it had in 1995, while other manufacturers took a major step forward in ensuring the safety of (their) aircraft during the period 1995-2018. The result of the correlation matrix shows that the world real gross domestic product and international tourist arrivals are fully correlated, since the correlation coefficient is one. The extractions shown and the findings of this research are relevant to the tourism economy, which, in the wake of the health crisis of early 2020, will look for different scenarios to restore tourist arrivals, first of all domestic ones, and, by the end of 2020, also of foreign tourists.
