Investing in Higher Education Teachers
Abstract
In 2018, the work of higher education teachers in relation to educational, scientific and research work is discussed from several aspects, as expected by different stakeholders: the state with legal acts, deans and students. In addition, the European Commission explains that higher education requires internationalisation and coordination of the higher education teachers’ performance with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). For both activities, a large part of the European budget is intended by the European Commission through cohesion funds, Erasmus + and Horizon 2020. In our research, based on secondary data obtained from various sources using the factor analysis, we evaluate the correlation of individual factors affecting the perceived educational value of higher education teachers’ work in the national economy. Upon the results of the principal component method analysis we name the acquired components. The components show us two results: the first component connects the work of higher education teachers with education, and the other connects their work with innovations and science.
