Spodbujanje ustvarjalnosti študentov v visokošolskem izobraževanju: percepcija študentov in visokošolskih učiteljev

Abstract

Today's social, economic and technological environment promotes innovation, entrepreneurship, differentiation, adaptation and novelty, which means that creative thinking is one of the essential skills that students should acquire during their studies in order to successfully integrate into the labour market. The importance of creativity for individuals and society is widely recognized in higher education, but the results of studies show that the promotion of creativity is still not a priority in education. The aim of the study was to investigate the perception of
creativity promotion in higher education at a Slovenian university from the perspective of teachers and students. The research was based on the quantitative method with the survey technique. The results showed that higher education institutions still operate in a strong cultural and procedural academic environment, which significantly affects the general perception of creativity. It was also found that there are statistically significant differences in opinion between teachers and students on almost all constructs. The most common barriers to promoting creativity for higher education teachers were systemic and
emotional barriers, while for students, overload, fear of criticism, and lack of motivation were prominent.
