Abstract

The aim of this paper is to illustrate the complex problem of the impact of work values on organisational behaviour and to identify the dimensions of work values that have the greatest impact on employees and their job satisfaction. Through a systematic literature review, we identify key findings in the field of organisational behaviour and employee values, detail the impact that employee values have on an organisation's work environment, and identify the dimensions that fall within the domain of work values using the categories and codes generated. Four research questions were formulated: (1) What are the key dimensions of employee work values? (2) How do cognitive work values influence employees and how are these effects manifested in the work environment of the organisation? (3) How do affective work values influence employees? And (4) What are the effects and impacts of instrumental work values? The limiting criteria for the literature review were: the period from 2013 to 2023, free access to the full text of the articles, the relevance of the topic, and the language of the text English and Slovenian. Based on the analysis of scientific articles, we found that cognitive, affective and instrumental work values have a significant impact on employee satisfaction and engagement, which in turn has an impact on the overall organisational environment.
